Law firm soukeník — štrpka was a partner of the International Transport Conference 2025, which took place on 30 September 2025 at the Holiday Inn hotel in Žilina. The event, held under the auspices of the Ministry of Transport of the Slovak Republic, brought together representatives of state administration, the professional community, and the business sector to discuss:

the development of transport infrastructure,
public investment,
the modernisation of Slovakia’s transport system.

Speech by Peter Štrpka

One of the speakers was Peter Štrpka, the firm’s founding partner, who in his presentation entitled:

“Dispute Prevention in Transport Investments – The Importance of Legal Support in the Preparation and Implementation of Transport Infrastructure Projects”

emphasised that:

“We are not so wealthy that we can afford to economise on high-quality lawyers.”

In his lecture, he highlighted the specific features of transport projects—their high value, long-term implementation, large number of stakeholders, and complex legislative environment. He pointed out that high-quality legal support already at the preparatory stage is the most effective instrument for:

the prevention of disputes,
the protection of public investment,
the protection of private investment.

The conference opened several topical issues—from the state of preparation of transport projects, through financing and environmental issues, to innovation in rail and road transport.

In his address, Minister of Transport Jozef Ráž Jr. highlighted the importance of cooperation among experts across sectors in seeking realistic solutions for the development of transport infrastructure.
