PRESS CONFERENCE ON THE NEW SPORTS ACT

On 31 March 2015, a press conference on the new Sports Act took place in the building of the National Council of the Slovak Republic with guests such as Mr. Peter Pellegrini, the Chairman of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, Mr. Juraj Draxler, the Minister of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic and with the members of the working group authorized to draft the new Sports Act such as Mr. Peter Sepeši, a prosecutor of the General Prosecution of the Slovak Republic and Mr. Miroslav Hlivák, one of the partners of our law firm.

The new Sports Act should provide the sport federations more autonomy and also reinforce the elements of transparency, order and control of the public. The working group authorized to draft the new Sports Act, the member of which is also Mr. Miroslav Hlivák, a partner of our law firm, has prepared the draft Sports Act that should solve the problems of the sports movement. The draft of the nonfinancial section of the Sports Act was introduced at the press conference held on 31 March 2015. The working group is currently working on the section of the Sports Act dealing with the financing of the sports, which shall be the subject of discussions in the upcoming weeks and months.
