PRESS CONFERENCE ON THE DRAFT SPORTS ACT

A press conference was held on 20 August 2015 after the end of the interdepartmental consultation procedure on the draft of the new Sports Act, attended by Peter Pellegrini, Chairman of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, presidents of national sports associations, sports experts and sports personalities who support the adoption of the new Sports Act and members of the working group entrusted with the drafting of the new Sports Act.

JUDr. Miroslav Hlivák, PhD., LLM, a partner at our law firm, who has been a member of the working group since the beginning, described the drafting of the Act at the press conference:

“This Act was drafted unconventionally, bottom-up, after a broad and long-term public discussion. The working group was formed in 2013 and consisted of 50 members and 50 consultants.

In autumn 2014, we undertook an unconventional survey on the draft Sports Act with more than 5,000 respondents. Today, the draft Act will be presented with 20 objections.”
