Model Court 2026

Model Court 2026

As the principal partner, we supported the second edition of the educational event Model Court 2026, which took place on 30 January – 1 February 2026 at the premises of the Faculty of Law of Comenius University in Bratislava. The event provided approximately 100 secondary school students from across Slovakia with a unique opportunity to experience law in practice—through simulated court proceedings and discussions with experts.

Model Court enables students to understand the functioning of the judiciary through practical experience with simulated court proceedings.

Supporting the Education of Young People

Education and support for the younger generation constitute an important part of our activities. It is also for this reason that, as a partner of the project since its inception, we supported Model Court again this year—continuing our established role as the principal partner.

The Course of the Second Edition

The second edition of the event was held on 30 January – 1 February 2026 at the Faculty of Law of Comenius University in Bratislava, with the aim of bringing the functioning of law and justice closer to secondary school students in an informal and practical manner.

Approximately 100 secondary school students from various parts of Slovakia took part in the programme. As part of the simulations, they were able to assume various roles:

  • legal representatives
  • judges
  • witnesses

The simulated proceedings took place before Slovak as well as international courts. The event was organised in cooperation with mentors drawn from among:

  • students of the faculty of law
  • doctoral candidates in law

The programme also included panel discussions with experts from the fields of law and the judiciary, enabling students to gain a better understanding of how the legal system operates in practice.

Development of Legal Thinking

Model Court is a format that fosters:

  1. legal literacy
  2. critical thinking
  3. civic engagement among young people

We are pleased to be part of a project that encourages students to think in context, argue on a reasoned basis, and perceive law as a system that significantly affects everyday life.
