Successful representation of a law firm at the ICC YAAF debate competition regarding taking of evidence in arbitration

On 8th September 2022, the Slovak Bar Association hosted a prestigious event organised by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Young Arbitration & ADR Forum (YAAF), which focused on the topic of evidence in international arbitration.

The panel discussion, in which significant domestic and foreign arbitration practicioners were represented, was followed by a debate competition on the same topic.

Eight teams consisting of two members participated in the debate competition. Since competitors were from various countries and continents, the debate competition was conducted in English. In each round of the competition, the teams defended their position on the actual issues of evidence in the arbitration before an experienced three-member panel. The competition team, which won 3rd place, was also represented by Milan Béreš, a junior associate from SOUKENÍK - ŠTRPKA.
